Apple has stopped production of the iPod touch device. Apple has announced that this will only be available as long as the supply lasts. This means that the "iPod" brand has officially retired, as the iPod touch is Apple's last iPod.

The first iPod Touch device was introduced in 2007 and became very popular with buyers expecting a device similar to the iPhone model. It has been receiving regular updates over the years, and as more and more people love the iPhone, Apple's attention has been drawn to it. The last iPod touch device was introduced in 2019, with a 4-inch display that was very similar to the design of the iPhone 7.

Apple has announced that the music will be live on. The announcement further states that Apple users will now enjoy their music across products such as the iPhone, Apple Watch, Apple TV and HomePod mini.

In a statement, Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing, explained that Apple currently has an "iPod Spirit" in its product line.

In addition to the end of the iPod Touch, it also marks the end of the iPod as a brand. The first iPod was introduced in October 2001, and with the addition of iPod shuffle, iPod nano, iPod classic, and iPod touch, the iPod series became popular several times over the years.
